What specializations does the University offer?

Within the educational program Computer Science at IT STEP University, students can choose among the following specializations:

• Cybersecurity

Within the specialization Software Development, students can choose from a wide range of optional components and form educational trajectories with an emphasis on their preferences:

• Web Programming

• Data Science

• Business Analysis

The Major & Minor educational model has been introduced at the IT STEP University. Within the model a student receives a degree in Computer Science (Major) and may receive an additional qualification (Minor) that is not directly related to the major, thus forming an interdisciplinary specialization and expanding their opportunities in the labor market. The University offers the following Minor programs:

• Management

• Digital Economy

• Digital Marketing and Sales

Is there a military department at the IT STEP University?

No. Those students who are willing to receive an officer rank in Lviv might enroll in the military department of the National Ground Forces Academy or Lviv or State University of Life Safety. The program has a limited number of spaces, and admission is a competitive process. Training lasts 2 years and lessons are conducted twice a week.

Can foreign students enter the University?

No. Only citizens of Ukraine can enter the University.

How many students can enroll in the University?

 

Bachelor’s degree program – 300 students

Master’s degree program – 100 students

Are the undergraduate programs also available on a part-time basis?

The University offers Bachelor’s degree programs on both full-time and part-time basis.

 

Who can enroll in the University?

Applicants who have completed general secondary education (with a certificate of complete secondary education), graduates of technical schools and colleges (with a diploma of junior specialist), graduates of institutes, academies, universities (with a bachelor's degree).

 

What is the course duration?

To obtain a Bachelor’s degree you are required to study for 4 years on the basis of complete general secondary education and 3 years if you have a junior specialist diploma. The duration of the Master’s degree program at the IT Step University is 1,5 years.

 

What entrance exams am I supposed to take to study for a Master’s degree?

You are required to have a Bachelor’s degree and pass a professional examination.

 

Is the IT industry involved in providing training for IT Step University students?

Yes. The IT Step University partners include Lviv IT Cluster and the following companies: SoftServe, EPAM, Global Logic, Learning Hub, ABTO Software, Advanced Information Technology Center, Intent Solutions Group, Lemberg Solutions and others. Over 80% of university teachers are employees of IT companies.
